How license verification works
Real estate is too important to leave to guesswork. Every realtor on RealtorByTask is a licensed California professional, and we make it easy to confirm that for yourself.
Our verification process
- 1
Realtors provide their DRE license
Every realtor must add their California Department of Real Estate (DRE) license number to their profile before they can be verified.
- 2
We review it
Our team checks the license against the California DRE's public records to confirm it's valid and active.
- 3
The Verified badge appears
Approved realtors display a DRE Verified badge on their profile and listings, with a direct link to their public DRE record so you can confirm it yourself.
- 4
We re-check over time
Verification isn't one-and-done. Older verifications are flagged for re-review so the badge keeps reflecting current standing.
What the DRE Verified badge means
A DRE Verified badge means we’ve confirmed the realtor holds a valid California real estate license at the time of review. The badge links directly to the realtor’s record on the California DRE public lookup, so you never have to take our word for it.
Verification confirms licensing. It isn’t an endorsement or a guarantee of any particular outcome. We also surface real reviews and each realtor’s track record so you have the full picture.
Confirm a license yourself
You can independently verify any California real estate license through the state’s official public lookup:
